Mark is a PHFD alumni who started his fire service career with us in 2000. He served faithfully until 2005. He was well regarded and had many friends at the PHFD. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. He will be sorely missed.
Rest in Peace, Brother... From Chief Richard Mikel; Elk Grove Village Fire Department- It is with extremely heavy hearts that the Elk Grove Village Fire Department announces the death of Fire Lieutenant Mark Pytlewicz. Lieutenant Pytlewicz was an extremely valued member of our Department who held many duties here including Company Officer, Technical Rescue Team, Honor Guard, and so much more. He passed unexpectedly yet peacefully at his home this morning. As details regarding services for Lt. Pytlewicz become available, the Department will share them with all our partners. For now, please keep his wife and children foremost in your thoughts, as well as his work family here at the Elk Grove Village Fire Department.
