Last night Firefighter Donny Miller graduated from the Northwest Community Hospital paramedic class. A ceremony awarding diplomas was held in the auditorimum of the hospital. The class began last fall and met five days a week for six months. The 900 hours of classroom, lab, and clinical education was followed by a field internship. During his internship Donny worked with licensed paramedics and performed all of the skills learned in the program. It was necessary for him to perform each skill on a variety of patients with injuries, medical emergencies, heart problems, and other conditions. Donny will now take the National Registry exam in order to obtain his license to function as a paramedic. Congratulations Donny!
