With the upcoming 4th of July holiday and the beautiful fireworks that are out there, you should know a couple of things. Sparklers are by far the most dangerous of all the "take-home" type fireworks. They're beautiful and even hypnotic but they also burn at 1,200 degrees. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, sparklers also accounted for 19% of all fireworks injuries last year in 2013.

Please read the following for more information:

Bottom line: it's safer, more economical, and more fun to leave the fireworks displays up to the professionals. There are many fireworks around the northwest suburbs for the holiday weekend. Here's a link to find a display near you:

Stay clear, stay safe. Enjoy a safe, healthy and happy 4th of July, 2014.
